The practice had no website. Enquiries came by phone, and every piece of tax paperwork had to be collected by email or in person — the slowest part of the job, repeated for every client, every year.
The practice also had a specific market in mind rather than a general one: individuals wanting a straightforward fixed-price return, rideshare and gig-economy workers, students, and small businesses needing BAS and bookkeeping. Four audiences with four different reasons to get in touch.
What was built
A public site plus a client-facing portal, aimed squarely at the Illawarra.
The public side presents the practice around its four customer groups, with fixed pricing stated up front — $99 individual returns — rather than buried behind an enquiry form. Search foundations are pinned to the region: Wollongong, Shellharbour and the wider Illawarra, so the practice appears for the suburb terms its customers actually use.
The functional side does the work. A visitor can send an enquiry, book an appointment, upload their tax documents, and pay — without a phone call and without an email thread. That last part is the one that saves the practice the most time: the paperwork arrives in one place, attached to the right client, instead of scattered across an inbox.
What it does for them now
The practice has a permanent presence for the Illawarra market and a self-serve intake path where there was previously only the phone. Helion Digital Solutions hosts and maintains the site on an ongoing basis.
